If you suffer from migraines, and are searching for a “magic pill” to relieve your pain, relief may be in your dentist’s office: a small device that fits over your two front teeth. It’s called the NTI Tension Suppression System, and it reduces the muscle contractions that occur when you clench your jaw tightly or grind your teeth. NTI was invented by a dentist who suffered from migraines and designed the prototype for his own use. In FDA tests, 85 percent of migraine sufferers had a 75 percent decrease in pain by using the NTI. Many of our patients have been helped by this appliance. Please call our office for your personal evaluation.
We’re delighted to welcome children to our office and are skilled in our gentle approach with them. We want them to grow up with a firm trust in us, and the sense that visits here are beneficial—even fun! Before your child’s first appointment, we’ll walk you through the exam, so you’ll know what to expect. That way, “going to the dentist” will become second nature to the both of you. Children are special patients, so we take special care with them.
Wouldn’t it be great to get your teeth straightened without anyone outside your family even knowing about it? Now there’s a new way to straighten teeth—invisibly. The process is called Invisalign®, because we use aligners instead of wires that are almost invisible. They can be just as effective as wire braces, and treatment takes about the same amount of time. But you’ll be far more comfortable. Invisalign® is removable, so you’ll have no problem eating, brushing, or flossing. Imagine having the smile you’ve always wanted without the braces you’ve always avoided. Let us set up an appointment to see if Invisalign® is for you.
Our dental office is a very safe place to be. The American Dental Association establishes requirements for infection control, but ours are much tougher. We have in place a stringent sterilization program and instrument protocols. We’re committed to fail-safe infection control. After all, we work here daily: protecting our patients helps protect us as well. We’ll be happy to show you the many precautions we have in place, and answer any of your questions. Your safety is our highest priority.
In some men or women, snoring can be reduced or eliminated simply by wearing an oral appliance at night. The appliance enlarges the airway by positioning the lower jaw slightly forward. The appliance fits snugly onto the teeth of each arch, with the teeth slightly apart. The procedure to fit the appliance is easy and painless.
Root canal. These two words strike fear in the hearts of most patients. Contrary to all the old jokes, however, the only serious pain you may experience in connection with a root canal is in putting off the procedure. Root canal therapy actually relieves the pressure and pain you may have been experiencing for weeks. The pain is in response to an infection of the nerve, or pulp of a tooth root. A root canal limits the infection and actually saves the tooth, and that’s really good news.
If you have a dental emergency, call us! We’ll do everything possible to take care of the problem and make you comfortable that day. Not every practice will treat dental emergencies, since they can disrupt the appointment schedule. But we want to be your dental resource whenever it’s needed most, for example, a knocked-out tooth. We’re available directly by phone during normal office hours.
